Antonio Portales Sr.


Antonio Portales Sr., 90, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and veteran of World War II entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 08, 2017 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by loving family. He was born in El Carmen, Texas on January 17, 1927. He is preceded in death by his parents Andres and Eulalia Portales; siblings Petra Portales, Guadalupe Garcia, Eva Zamora, Adan Portales, Lauriano Portales.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Consuelo Portales; children Antonio (Lily) Portales Jr., Andres Portales, Alma Martinez, Aurora (Malcolm) Brown, Arturo (Georgia) Portales, Alfredo (Lupita) Portales, Armando Portales, Amparo (Javier) Rodriguez; 52 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. There will be a funeral mass held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.     Estimada familia Portales. Nada es comparable al profundo dolor de perder a un ser querido. Se siente un vacio y una tristeza muy grande pero podemos encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia. El salmista imploro a Dios: “Sirva tu bondad amorosa por favor, para consolarme” (Sal. 119:76). Una manera muy destacada como nuestro Padre celestial nos conforta es dandonos animo y guia. El Salmo 119:105 dice que su palabra es una lampara y una luz que ilumina nuestro camino. Le animamos a encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia.
