Esperanza B. Blanchard, 87, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her parents Benito Barba and Guadalupe Barba; her son Jose Ramon Blanchard, her sister Victoria Castillo, nephew Gilbert Rodriguez and granddaughter Terri B. Chisum. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Raymond Blanchard; children Ida B. Guerrero, Juanita (Carlos+) Renteria, Richard (Theresa) Blanchard, Edward (Maria) Blanchard, Mary Alice (Eduardo) Martinez, Ben M. (Lydia) Blanchard, Cynthia (Richard) Valdez, Diana (Jose) Gonzalez, 25 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, great grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally. She had a beautiful heart and was very giving and caring for her family and others. She loved to cook and everyone looked forward to her meals.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with services concluding. Serving as pallbearers will be Jesus Javier Guerrero, Jaime A. Guerrero, Enrique Guerrero, Eddie Martinez, Joey Gonzalez, Vinnie Valdez, Benny Blanchard and Christian Blanchard.
