This saddens my heart. Back in Los Fresnos, as little as I was in Jr. High and why you gave me the nickname “Squirt” you taught to me to fight and work hard for my position in all sports. Thank you for that extra push. You were a great coach and will always be one of my favorites. May you Rest In Peace, Coach Bowman….God Bless. Chris K

My deepest sympathies. I have so many fond memories of Lily (and Shirley) taking me under their wings to teach me about Brownsville and the valley. I would have never survived here without them. I just finished my 33rd year here, so they must have done a great job with me. I didn’t have family in Brownsville, but I always considered all the great people I met in Brownsville my family. Rest In Peace Lily. You will be remembered always.

    To Lillie and David,
Shirley was one of a kind. When she was born they broke the mold. She
was an excellent teacher whether she was teaching an ESL class or the
gifted and talented class. She taught the ESL students on their level of
understanding and if that meant she had to use Spanish, she did. She
loved her students especially those she coached guiding them in the
right direction to a productive life in the future. As her friend for many, many years I will miss her but I have some rewarding memories to last
a lifetime. David, take care of Lillie and if you need anything, I am here
in San Antonio, just call me. Lillie is also one of my friends of many years,
    too.
