Rosa Linda (Gonzalez) Silva


Rosa Linda (Gonzalez) Silva, 52, of Brownsville, TX, devoted Wife, Sister, Aunt and Friend, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 21, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by loving family. She was born in Brownsville, TX, on March 29, 1965. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Gonzalez Sr. and Herlinda C. Gonzalez, and her husband Emilio Xavier Silva. Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Diana G. Santana(+Jesus), Norma C. Gonzalez (Marco), Graciela G. Cantu(Ramon), Sylvia Hernandez (Juan), Alfredo Gonzalez Jr. (Joann) and Maria Elvia Perez (Eleazar) along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
Rosie was a devoted Special Education teacher for 29 years, Rosie has a special gift to touch the lives of each and every one of her students and everybody else that had the honor of meeting her.
Her laughter and positive attitude, were a beacon of hope, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anybody.
Her steadfast faith in God kept her focusing on her blessings, and even through her struggle with cancer, she would always put others before her. Rosie radiated God’s strength and love, and many were blessed to experience the positivity, and calmness that she exuded.
Even though Rosie has gone to Paradise with God, she continues to live on through the many lives she impacted, and she will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held, Monday, April 24 and Tuesday, April 25, from 1:00-9:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lord of Divine Mercy Catholic Church on Alton Gloor. Burial will follow to Buena Vista Burial Park. Funeral services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, 657 Springmart Blvd. 956-350-8485

    Estimada familia Silva. Nada es comparable al profundo dolor de perder a un ser querido. Se siente un vacio y una tristeza muy grande pero podemos encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia. El salmista imploro a Dios: “Sirva tu bondad amorosa por favor, para consolarme” (Sal. 119:76). Una manera muy destacada como nuestro Padre celestial nos conforta es dandonos animo y guia. El Salmo 119:105 dice que su palabra es una lampara y una luz que ilumina nuestro camino. Le animamos a encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia.
