Benito S. Canales, 69, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Solara Hospital-Brownsville. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Concepcion Canales; siblings Flora C. Herrera, Jesus Sr., Jose Jr., Servando Sr., Pablo Sr., Napoleon, Miguel, Antonio, and Maria Diega Canales. Left to cherish his memory is his children Dora (Alex) Garcia, Priscilla (Eric) Dominguez, Benito S. (Stephanie) Canales, Natalia (Rick) Hernandez; siblings Maria C. Crouch, Nemencio Canales, Connie C. Neeley, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with Military Honors by VFW Post# 2035 at 6:00 p.m. and the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.     My deepest condolences for the Canales family. Even though I can’t be there in person, I am praying for him and for you. God has taken him to join his parents and siblings because He knew how he was suffering. May he have mercy on his soul. God bless him.

    Estimada familia Canales. Nada es comparable al profundo dolor de perder a un ser querido. Se siente un vacio y una tristeza muy grande pero podemos encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia. El salmista imploro a Dios: “Sirva tu bondad amorosa por favor, para consolarme” (Sal. 119:76). Una manera muy destacada como nuestro Padre celestial nos conforta es dandonos animo y guia. El Salmo 119:105 dice que su palabra es una lampara y una luz que ilumina nuestro camino. Le animamos a encontrar consuelo en el mensaje de la biblia.
