Lily (Weaver) Vasques, 86, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Los Indios, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Refugia Weaver, Walter and Virginia Veazy; siblings Eloisa Cardenas, Willie, Eddie Weaver, and Mary Helen Stith. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Emilio “Capi” Vasques, children Walter West Vasques, Camille A. Benedetto; grandchildren Diego, Enzo and Nora; siblings Ester Del Toro, Minnie Escobedo, Mary Galvan, Tony Weaver, Julia Castro, and Amelia Huerta.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rico Roser, Hugh Emerson, Carlos Banuelos, Ben Garcia, Leonel Lopez, and Zach Borja.
