Lydia Martinez, 80, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 11, 1936. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Martinez, son James Martinez, parents Guadalupe del Fierro and Jose Arizmendi, and 1 sister Celina Arizmendi. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Jeannie Martinez, a son Joseph Martinez, and 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. with a chapel service at 4:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas.     Estimada familia Martinez. Mi mas sentido pesame. La muerte de un ser querido es uno de los golpes mas grandes que experimenta la familia y amigos intimos. No hay duda que durante esos tiempos tristes y dificiles, todos necesitamos consuelo. La biblia dice que nuestro creador es el “Dios de todo consuelo”. En 2 Corintios 1:4 dice que el nos consuela “para que nosotros podamos consolar a los que se hallan en cualquier clase de tribulacion”. Nos quiere tanto que nos promete una resurreccion en Juan 5;28,29. queria compartir este mensaje de consuelo con su familia.
