Lucio Jose Castro


Lucio Jose Castro, 71, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on October 22, 1945.

He is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe Alicia Castro and Lucio Castro Barrientos. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Sandra Castro, children Sandra Lucila Castro, Griselda Abousleman (Greg Abousleman), Lucio Jose Castro (Rosa Valle), and Emmanuel Castro (Vanessa Castro), siblings Hector Castro, Carlos Castro, Alicia de Los Santos, Juana Emma Alvarado, Gloria Sanchez, and Alma Martinez. He will be dearly missed. His loving and friendly smile will be cherished forever. Lucio most enjoyed spending precious moments with his family. His love of life and selfless character will be remembered by all who loved him.

Visitation is scheduled for family and friends on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. with a rosary and prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. A mass will be held in his honor at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017.     GOD gave us strength, Jesus gives us the courage, and Mother Mary provides us The Rosary of Prayers to keep Mr. Lucio Castro alive in heaven. I am sorry to have missed his Rosary &Mass. During 11a.m. Mass today, is when we first of his death on this earth.
