Alberto Jose Herrera, 64, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Brownsville, Texas. Funeral mass was held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment was held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Catholic Calvary Cemetery in Laredo, Texas. On behalf of the whole staff here at Los Fresnos Dental Center, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Herrera Family. Mr. Alberto Herrera was a wonderful patient, and will truly be missed. May you find comfort in this difficult time.
Dr. Herrera was a kind, caring and dedicated educator. It was an honor to work with him at UT Brownsville in the Department of Education. He directed our program for Student Teaching and Alternative Certification in Education for approximately five years. During this time I assisted with the program by working directly with supervisors and campus administrators and teachers in schools in our area of the Valley. The participants often expressed positive comments about his leadership and his manner of working with those in the program. He will be remembered by many.
