James “JJ,†38 of Brownsville Texas, devoted son, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on July 24, 1978. JJ enjoyed fishing, barbequing, spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved cat Bob.
He is survived by his wife Jessica, daughters Dorian & Maddy, parents James & Frieda Belton, sister Antira (Omar) Zamora, nieces, nephews, great niece & great nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank all of the nursing staff and treatment teams on the 3rd floor medical, 2nd floor telemetry, SICU 7 MICU units at Valley Baptist Medical Center. A special thank you to Dr. Jesus Ortiz for his care and compassion for JJ.
There will be a memorial service held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church.

Our Deepest Condolences to James and Frieda Belton and Family.
We have been praying were since we got word of his medical condition. James and Frieda as parents this one of the hardest things you must go through and that is loosing one of our children. We can not understand why thing happen. Rest assure that our love ones is heaven were waiting for him and his in a better place and not suffering.
