Israel Balli


Israel Balli, 81, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Brownsville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 5, 1934.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Carolina G. Balli; siblings, Eleazar, Roberto, Oscar, Ezequiel (his twin brother), Clemente, Samuel, and Cristobal Balli.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Victoria Balli; children, Alma (Michael) Wilson, Norma (Daniel) Zapata, Leticia (Hector) Salinas, Victoria (Gerardo) Longoria, Israel Jr., and Gilbert (Michelle) Balli; grandchildren, Armando Alvear II, Melinda Alvear, Marshall Wilson, Daniel Zapata Jr., Elizabeth Edwards, Hector Salinas Jr., Melissa Ginivan, John Salinas, Nicole Hernandez, Alexandria Longoria, Cristopher Balli, Raul Balli, Victoria Balli, Sebastian Balli, Israel Balli III, Annaliese Balli, Alexander Balli, and 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Adelia Torres, and Juan (Gregoria) Balli; brother in law, Gilberto Davila; sisters in law, Juanita Balli, Antonia Balli, and Elvia Balli; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was a man who loved God with all his heart, and with all his soul, strength, and mind. He loved and devoted his life to his wife of 60 years, his children, and his children’s children. He will be remembered by all for his love, kindness, selflessness, vibrant smile, and his great sense of humor.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 1-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will be a chapel service on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Serving as pallbearers: Hector Salinas Jr., Daniel Zapata Jr., Samuel Hernandez, Raul Balli, John Salinas, Marshall Wilson, Alexander Balli, and Sebastian Balli. Honorary pallbearers: Israel Balli Jr., Gilbert Balli, Michael Wilson, Daniel Zapata Sr., Hector Salinas Sr., Gerardo Longoria, and Gilberto Davila. Interment will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
