Tomasita C. Tovar went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Brownsville, Texas. She was born in Pettus, Texas on June 27, 1927.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gaudencio Cadena and Angelita Aldape, husband, Rene Tovar, a son, Jorge L. Tovar and her brother Ascension Cadena.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Olga (Guadalupe) Cardenas, Sergio (Maria) Tovar, Maria de Jesus (Jorge Tovar+), Arnoldo Tovar; and a sister, Ignacia Cadena. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Gina (Jose Lopez) Cardenas, Eric Cardenas (Fabiola Juarez), Mayra (Steven Avila) Cardenas, Kasey Ann Cardenas, Mariela and Jorge Luis Tovar Jr, and great grandchildren, Eric Fabian and Italia Cardenas, Genevieve Lopez, and numerous other family members.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother. We will always remember her pollo en mole on Sunday afternoons.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 1-9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. Services conclude at the end of the visitation. Services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78526.
