Maria Trevino Velasquez


María Treviño Velásquez, 86, of Los Fresnos, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Benito, TX on March 25, 1930.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Federico Treviño and Albina Salinas; a daughter, Hortencia Uresti de Velásquez; siblings, Josefina Hernández and Gilberto Treviño; and grandchildren, Mario Alberto Velásquez Jr. and Cesar Pérez Velásquez.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years, Marcelino Velásquez Espinoza; children, Emilio, Arturo, Isidro, Mario Alberto, Gilberto Velásquez, Lidia Zúñiga, Graciela Imperial, and Lourdes Velásquez; sister, Catalina Cordero, and numerous nieces and nephews.

María loved the outdoors and was a devoted wife and mother that always cared for everyone and she had a profound love for God. She is now resting in peace and sitting next to God and now an Angel is watching over us.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 1-9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. There will be a chapel service on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made towards the funeral service. Services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. (956) 350-8485

    My deepest condolence to your family loss your beautiful family member. I have found comfort in bible it has given me hope that I can see my love one again. I hope it will bring you comfort also.
