Darlene Gail (Young) Farias, 72, of Los Fresnos, TX, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest Friday, January 8th 2016, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in McAllen, TX., June 7, 1943.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Donald Young.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Reynaldo “Rey†Farias, her mother, Donna Young, her children, Kim (Ruben) Trevino, Kristie (Eddie) Rojas, Vikki (Mario) Molina. Also surviving are her siblings, Diane (Johnny) Bradley and Dan (Peggy) Young, along with her grandchildren, Kayla & Hope Trevino; Alyssa Rojas; Sienna and Annalise Molina along with “Chiquitaâ€, her beloved Pekingese dog. She will be greatly missed.
Retired for 8 years, Darlene held various positions during her nearly 50 years of work history. Darlene held various positions including a secretary for the FBI in Washington D.C., a registered nurse at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen and at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.
She loved spending time with her girls, going shopping, taking trips with her husband, decorating, throwing parties, and working with her plants in the yard. She never met a stranger. Her career as a nurse allowed her to be an angel of mercy to hundreds of people. Now that she has passed, she will be our angel in Heaven as she was on earth.
Visitation will be today, January 10, 2016 from 1:00 pm till 9:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7 pm. A Funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016, at 11 am at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Los Fresnos, with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
