Amelia E. Ruiz, 94, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas Mexico on November 21, 1921.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Gregorio Espinoza and Andrea Santos, husband; Agosto Ruiz and siblings; Andrea Garza and Alicia Espinoza.
Left to cherish her memory is her children; Alberto Ruiz, Olga Cisneros, Hector Javier Ruiz, Alfredo Ruiz, Maria Elena Verduzco, Minerva Gracia, Jose Agusto Ruiz, Roberto Ruiz, siblings; Angelica Morales, Eleazar Espinoza, Ramiro Espinoza, granchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her joy in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved helping others in their time of need. She was a woman of many passions, cooking, baking, sewing, dancing, gardening, and caring for her grandchildren. She rejoiced in seeing the unity of her family. She lived a long, blessed life surrounded by her family, friends, and many acquaintances.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will be a chapel service on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
