Annie Ortiz, 74, of Brownsville, Texas devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mission, Texas on June16, 1941.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Dominga Alvarez and Juan Pena. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Elizabeth O. Guzman, Sandra Ortiz, Cindy Ann Ortiz, Nancy Ortiz, Brenda Ann Ortiz and Michael Anthony Ortiz, siblings; Israel Alvarez, Alicia Pena, grandchildren; Anna Marie Alvarez and Anthony M. Ortiz Alvarez.

Annie was a generous, kind hearted and very giving lady. She loved life and mostly loved all her family and friends. Purple was her signature color. Please help us in honoring my mother by wearing purple.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Quintanilla, Adrian Dorsett, Marco Sanchez, Antonio “Tony†Ortiz, Michael Ortiz, and Hector Zamarripa. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Ortiz Alvarez, Arnold Campos, Frank, Jaime, Santiago Trevino and Israel Riley Alvarez.

The family will like to give special thanks to Dr. Humberto De la Vega, Dr. Jose Maymi, Dr. Florinda Duado, Dr. Manuel Guajardo Sr., Dr. Ahmad Karkoutly, Dr. Lorenzo Pelly, Dr. Boek, Dr. Udey and all of the nurses of CCU and PCU staff and surgical department.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 1-9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. There will be a funeral mass held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 12 noon at The Lord of Divine Mercy Parish. Services will conclude at the end of the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas.
