Eutimio Carlos “Timo” Hernandez III

Eutimio Carlos “Timo” Hernandez III

On Sunday morning, April 30th, 2023, Eutimio “Timo†Carlos Hernandez, III of San Antonio, Texas was called to the pearly gates of heaven while resting peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eutimio, Jr. and Alicia Briseño Hernandez, his son-in-law, Scott Aaron and his daughter-in-law, Emily Terrinoni.

Timo was born in Brownsville, Texas on October 19, 1950. He graduated from Brownsville High School in 1968 and went on to play football for the Borregos at Monterey Tech.  He often joked that college expanded his vocabulary, teaching him words like “scholastic†and “probationâ€.

He served his country in the National Guard from 1969 until 1975.

After entertaining a plethora of entrepreneurial endeavors in the fitness, hospitality, and automotive industries, Timo carved his biggest professional niche in wrecker sales.

In his career as a sole proprietor he was cunning, resourceful, and resilient.

It’s easy to attribute his professional success to his salescraft, but his true gift was his ability to be a bi-lingual expert in his field and a resource to anybody that needed help.

For many friends, family, and total strangers alike, Timo was a catalog of one-liners, anecdotes, and tactical wisdom made flesh. He was a gifted musician, the life of the party, and a steadfast advisor for those who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Alejandra, who made him the luckiest man alive in many ways for over 49 years. He is also survived by his daughter Glenda (Neil) McLean of Helotes, Texas, his son, Timo Hernandez IV of San Antonio, and four grandchildren, Taylor, Josh, Mackenzie and Fiona. He is also survived by his sisters Dolores Anastas, Petra (Robert) Myrick and his brother, Dr. Emilio (Dalia) Hernandez, an uncle, aunts, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Please join us at 700 Silver Springs Helotes, TX 78023 on Saturday May 13th, 2023 at 2 in the afternoon as we honor and celebrate the memory of a man who lived much of his life on his own terms, to a degree which few men ever know.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the St. Joseph Academy Endowment Fund in Brownsville, TX or the Texas Military Institute Alumni Association Scholarship Fund in San Antonio in his name.

Sincere condolences to your family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “ Jesus plainly told her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.
