Aurelio T. Reyna

Aurelio T. Reyna, 89, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and grandfather went to be with Our Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ysac Reyna and Angelita Reyna; a grandson Andrew Reyna; two siblings, Andres Reyna, and Herlinda R. Amador.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Edelmira Reyna; six children Norma (Randall) Grisham, Aurelio (Rosa) Reyna, Lucila Rock (Larry Lerma), Berlinda (Brian) Dowse, Edelmira (Gilberto) Alejos, and Mayra Lizeth (Julio) Hernandez; five siblings, Maria Hernandez, Roberto Reyna, Julia Cuevas, Aurora Reyna, and Jesus Reyna; eighteen grandchildren, Randy, Darrick, Anthony, Alex, Arlene, Christopher, Reine, Jacquelyn, Kaelyn, Ramiro, Casey, Lucas, Amber, Michelle, Vanesa, Gilberto, Osiel, and Scarlett; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A proud patriot and Veteran who bravely fought in the Korean War. He met the love of his life, Edelmira, in 1968. Mr. Reyna was a Master Plumber who never met retirement. He had a passion for his industry and worked all his life up until his last days. Aurelio was a food enthusiast who was well known at various coffee shops and restaurants around town, such as Fina’s Café and Golden Coral. He also enjoyed watching western movies and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial funeral home. Visitation continues Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 12PM with funeral mass at St. Luke Catholic church at 2PM. Interment will follow at 3PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop.
