Fernando Niño

Fernando Niño

Fernando Niño, a 75-year-old, talented automotive painter, lover of classic cars, an avid gardener, animal lover, and music lover went to meet our Lord on Thursday, May 26th, 2022.

Fernando was born in San Benito, Texas on May 20, 1947 and was raised in Matamoros, Mexico. He traveled all over the United States as a migrant worker, truck driver, shrimper, and was employed at Chevrolet Dealership for 15 years as their top automotive painter, as well as Chrysler and Don Johnson dealerships before owning his own automotive body shop for 35 years. He loved spending time outside with his garden plants and fruit trees, while listening to music and talking to his cats. And there was not a Saturday that Fernando wasn’t glued to the TV watching boxing matches and lucha libres.

He was preceded in death by his father Roberto Niño and his mother Antonia Guerrero Niño, his brothers Idelfonso Niño, Jose Alberto Niño, Roberto Niño, and sister Juana Maria Niño.

He is survived by the love of his life of 55 years Margarita Franco Niño, and his son Jesus Antonio, his daughters Elisa Daniella (Julio Rodriguez), Marisa (Louis Leal), two sisters Guadalupe Maria Salinas (Jose Angel) and Teresa Garcia (Victor), and granddaughter Madison Faith Leal. And over 40 nieces and nephews.

Fernando, who was a lover of life, invites you to celebrate his life at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The celebration will be on Saturday, May 28th, 2022, for a viewing from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm. At Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
