Adelfina Quintanilla

Adelfina Quintanilla, 83, of Brownsville, Texas devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother and friend, entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2022. She was born on February 1, 1939 in Karnes City, Texas. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Ramirez, her parents, Faustino and Carolina Ramirez and siblings, Antonio Ramirez, Roberto Ramirez, Eva Flores, Juanita Ramirez, and Ernesto Ramirez.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Carlos Quintanilla, Sr ; children Maria de la luz (Julio) Quintanilla and Maria Luisa (Carlos) Quintanilla, Jr.  ; siblings – Elisa (Oscar) Benavides Ramirez of Bartow, FL, Elena (Alberto) Gomez of Bowling Green, FL, Jose Luis (Francisca) Ramirez of Sarasota, FL, Clara (Ignacio) Rodriguez of Princeton, TX, Evelia (Sergio Lopez)Perez of Bowling Green, FL and Aurora (Alan) Krodel of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren – Melissa (Raymond) Quintanilla-Vasquez, John Vincent (Erika) Quintanilla, Carlos (Roxanne) Quintanilla, III., Julio Cesar Quintanilla, Jr., and Bryan V. Quintanilla; great-grandchildren – Sabrina, Savannah, Juan, and Preston.

Adelfina was a strong-willed person who was devoted to God and her family. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing. She will be remembered for her fiesty spirit, strong personality, and warm-loving smile.  

The Quintanilla family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Sunshine Haven Inc. for their dedicated care and compassion. 

Public visitation will be held on  March 25, 2022 from 1 – 8 p.m.  with a rosary service at 6PM  at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485.

A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Services conclude at the end of the funeral mass.

    My Deepest Condolences to her sweet daughters, my nieces, Lucy and Mary and her Husband Carlos. You will be truly missed Dear sister-in-law. Thank you for all the the good times and laughs we shared with you and your family! Who would have guessed that two years ago when I last saw you, that I would have lost your brother Ernesto and now you! Rest in Heavenly Peace!
