Guadalupe P. Chapa

Guadalupe P. Chapa, 93, of Olmito, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend entered into eternal rest on January 12, 2022, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio Padilla and Manuela Peña; two sons, Ismaelito Chapa and Robert Chapa; six siblings, Francisco Padilla, Jesus Padilla, Antonio Padilla, Santos Padilla, Monserato Padilla, and Maria Ignacia Naranjo.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Lidia (Pete Jr.†) Reyna, Hector Chapa, Daughter-in-law Josie (Robert †) Chapa, Lupe (Efrain) Cavazos, Ismael Chapa, Janie (Mike) Hansen, Mary Ann Lopez (Albert), Carlos (Cathy) Chapa, Chelo Chapa, Rick Chapa, Ramiro (Lydia) Chapa, and Ernesto Chapa; 29 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 3 PM to 9 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 9 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at El Calabos Cemetery at 12 PM located at 22887 US-281, San Benito, TX 78586. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop, 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, TX, (956) 350-8485.

    My loving mom, you are our anchor, our Rock, Nothing will ever be the same without you. The Lord called you home and we had to say farewell till we meet again. There will not be a day, that I won’t think of you or miss you. God knows all the unity you instilled in us.We will continue to move forward and love eachother just as you have loved us.
