Santa P. “Santitos” Becerra

Santa P. “Santitos†Becerra, 87, of San Pedro, Texas wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  Entered her eternal rest on April 11, 2021 at Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on June 30, 1933.  She is proceeded in death by her parents Manuel F. Perez, Eulogia F. Perez, brothers Encarnacion Perez, Gil Perez, Manuel F Perez Jr., Efrain Perez, sister Melita Borrego.  

She was a loving mother to us & a wonderful Gramma to our children. Our mother was true Christian with great faith. She was a very active member at San Pedro Catholic Church as a CCD teacher, guadalupanas, Church Kermes for many years of service. She enjoyed going to Peter Piper Pizza. She always made our Easter’s very memorable & fun. She loved watching Cantinflas, La India Maria, Grease, Dirty Dancing & many other comedy shows & movies. She enjoyed seeing our animals especially when they had babies. God surely blessed us with this marvelous woman, our Mother. We will miss her immensely, but we will always have in our hearts.

Santa is survived by her husband Reuben E. Becerra, daughters Gracie Kanalas (John), Lee Sandra Gonzalez (Guadalupe), Eulogia Leyva (Pablo) , sons Rene E. Becerra, Ruben Becerra Jr. (Gina), Jesus M. Becerra (Karina), 13 grandchildren (Johnny, Kassie, Carol, Guadalupe Jr., Rene Jr. “R.B.”, Veronica, Francellie, Ashley, Pablo Jr., Guillermo, Little Jesse, Hunter, Scarlett), 6 great grandchildren(Eddie, Emma, Evva, Emeviie, Riser Grace, Enrique “Kiki”), 3 brothers Rene O. Perez, Rey Perez (Alex), Don Perez (Mary), 1 sister Irma Vega (Xavier) .

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 1 to 7 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10 AM at San Pedro Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the end of the funeral mass. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville. (956) 350-8485

    She was a wonderful aunt. My fondest memories are of buying things from her store in San Pedro when I was a little girl. I know I will see her again. Her niece, Arcilia Becerra, oldest of the daughters of the daughters or Jose Z. Becerra. I want you to know my heart as I am sure she knows my heart. She was loved deeply.
