Pablo “Paco” Romualdo Delgado

Pablo “Paco†Romualdo Delgado, 23, of Brownsville, Texas, entered eternal rest on February 22, 2021. He was known as our family’s “Mariachi†as he always carried his guitar to brighten any room, he stepped in. We remember with how much joy he played for Grandma Beba her favorite song, “Se me fue mi amor†and the happiness it brought him to sing “Las mañanitas.†He will always be remembered for his love for visiting family with his cowboy outfit, nurturing his friendships, gift-giving nature, selflessness, and always giving more than he could take. Paco’s favorite place to visit was his rancho querido in San Luis Potosi where his grandparents and maternal family currently reside.

With his departure we are reminded of the many lessons he taught us in the time he spent with us and left to cherish his memory are his father Jose Angel Delgado, mother Alura Delgado, siblings Jose Angel Moctezuma, Abigail Delgado, Lourdes Clariza Moctezuma, Perla Delgado, and Sadie Christine Delgado.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at 657 Springmart Blvd. in Brownsville, TX 78526.  To celebrate his life, the services will begin on March 3, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue to take place on March 4, 2021 from 9 am to 12 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, followed by burial services at 12:30 pm at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens located at 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, Texas.

The Delgado-Moctezuma family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, donations, meals, and words of comfort that have been shared with us.

Pablo was a gifted carpenter among many other things and will always be remembered for the most beautifully crafted home he helped build for us on E Jefferson. Even though our lives crossed for but a very brief moment, his talents, construction and contributions will last forever in our home. His story, although too short in length, will live on for many years in our hearts as our “mariachi” too. May he rest in peace and his family know that he is singing and playing his guitar in heaven.

Much love to Pepe and his family from the two of us.

    Mi chamo,

I can write endless books about you, we met when we were 13/14 years old. I remember the day we met, it was a Friday, you were the new kid in school and you rode my bus because you had moved in to the same apartments. My friend had a crush on you so me being me went up to you and asked for your number the thing is you didn’t have a phone you said “oh man I don’t have a phone right now until Monday” I looked at you and said “I’ll ask again Monday then” you smiled and nodded. After that day, what was meant to be just a casual conversation turned out into the best blessing I ever had in my life which was you, and will always be you. We were inseparable from that day forward, you always told my mom and family that you’d come back to Pasadena just to steal me away. That day never came but don’t worry we’ll finally be together one day just be patient. And I honestly can’t wait. Wish you were here so I could annoy you with my love and affection but you never really got annoyed by it, you actually loved it!
You take with you so many secrets that we shared, and I will treasure them forever.
God, I love you so much.
I hope you know that. I’ll never love anyone how I love you, what we had was something special.
    Eras mi alma gemela.
Cuando te vea espero uno de esos abrazos tan fuertes que me dabas.
Te amo, hoy, mañana y siempre.

My beloved nephew I will forever cherish the last time I hugged you. It was on my mom’s passing. That too was the last I love you. I am forever greatful that I had the chance to tell you how proud I was of the young man you had become. With your departure you have left so many lessons for us. Your love language of playing the guitar for mom and the rest of the family is unforgettable. I Thank God for the time he allowed you to be with us. You will be remembered and loved forever.

To my brother Jose, his wife Alura and siblings; my prayers are with you. You know that all of our family is with you and you are not alone! We love you!

Blessed are those who mourn; for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

    Pablo.

I finally have the time to write to you, forgive me it took me so long.

I remember the first time we met, it was in technical theatre class. We were juniors, I believe. We ended up sitting in the same table. I honestly thought you were going to be mean! Little did I know you actually had one of the most wholesome and funny person. It’s true, tu no tenias maldad. I remember we would work on our projects in that class and still had the time to joke around. I still remember the funny nicknames you gave me, you would always give me something new nickname everyday practically. We didn’t speak much outside of class but if we bumped into each other we would always greet each other and joke around a bit. Gracias por todo Pablo, en verdad eres un gran and real amigo. Thank you for still being in touch with me after graduation even though we didn’t talk as much. Thank you for always hyping me up on my pictures and hobbies. I pray to one day we can see each other again and we can kick it back like the good old times, and reminisce high school.

Gracias Pablo. I’ll see you again.
