Michael Angel Garcia

Michael Angel Garcia

Michael Angel Garcia, 17, left us too soon on August 28, 2020, at Valley Baptist Medical Center. He is survived by his loving parents Oscar Garcia Sr. and Aracely Del Angel Garcia. Siblings, Oscar (Jennifer), Katrina (Raul), and David. Nieces and nephews, Jeremiah, Alejandra, and Ivory. Grandparents Renato (Grandma Rosie) Garcia Sr. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His Godparents Renato Garcia Jr., Melissa Lee Garcia, and Cesar (Elvira) Garcia. His loving girlfriend Karyme Garza. Preceded in death by Grandparents Jesus (Lupita) Del Angel.

Michael was born on February 21st, 2003 in Brownsville, Tx and was a Senior at James Pace ECHS. Known as “Mikeyâ€, he represented the Vikings Varsity football team wearing #12, playing corner back and safety. Throughout high school Mikey enjoyed competing in Law Enforcement Skills USA and volunteering throughout the community. Mikey had planned to begin a career in welding and attend UTRGV for his basics. Mikey also had hoped to embark on this journey while continuing to enjoy and create memories with his girlfriend. Though God had other plans, the memories shared along the way are yours to keep. Though we may not understand now, Mikey gained his wings in His time.

Any room Mikey entered, he was sure to fill it up with his infectious personality and smile. Mikey always stood up for what he believed in even if it wasn’t the right thing to say or do. Always thinking he knew it all, many of you were likely blessed to hear first-hand his crazy words of wisdom. Standing up for others when they needed someone in their corner, that was Mikey. On weekends you would catch him playing video games or hanging out with his friends. For those close friends and home boys, you know who you are, thank you for always having his back ‘till the end.

The family asks for your understanding that in order to be in compliance with the county and state health restrictions and funeral regulations, they will be having a family service for their beloved Michael at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home (657 Springmart Blvd. Brownsville, TX 78526). The family is requesting for any colored attire to be worn except black. There will be a public viewing from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020. Please wear masks at all times. Gone is your baby boy but not the cherished memories. Hang on to those cherished times and cherised memories and especially to the love which will forever remain in your heart. May the Lord be with all who loved him and may He walk by your sides as you go through your grief. Our prayers are with you all❣
