When someone like Derrik dies at 44, I can be angry and sad, because he died too soon, or grateful because he lived and I knew him. Grudgingly, I’m taking the latter perspective. What a funny, smart and kind soul. It is uncommon to find all three of those traits in an attorney. I know because I am one. I’m going to miss him. My deepest condolences to his family and closest friends.

I am so grateful to have had the pleasure of crossing paths with you and I know it wasn’t by accident. You were truly a genuine, kind and caring person and you will be remembered by so many. It was a sad day for the people who knew you on the day the Lord took you home. Thank you for all you’ve done, you will be greatly missed!
