Mrs. Marisol Adriana Salazar (Garcia)

Mrs. Marisol Adriana Salazar (Garcia), of Brownsville, Texas entered Heaven on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the age of 45.

Marisol was born to parents Guadalupe Garcia Jr. and Brunilda Garcia (Zuniga) on April 26, 1975 in Falfurrias, Texas. She grew up as the second of 3 children and attended Falfurrias High School. In 1993 she met her loving husband, Felipe Alejandro Salazar, at Texas A&I University, and they married 3 months later. The couple had four beautiful children who she loves with all her heart: Katheryn, Felipe, Joyce, and Claudia.

After an encounter with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she served 10 years at La Parrita Baptist Church as a fabulously energetic, creative and Spirit filled youth Minister. Multi-talented, she excelled at anything she set her mind to. She worked in sales, owned, and managed her restaurant, partnered with others in business, prepared tax returns, worked as a licensed security officer, and did live remotes and advertising at KPSO radio. An act of love in caring for a family member stricken with cancer led her to discover nursing as her passion, a profession at which she excelled, especially in the are of home health/wound care. Marisol had dreams of completing her BSN and was working on a real estate license.

Marisol is survived by her husband, daughter, Katheryn Salazar; her son, Felipe Salazar; her daughter Joyce Salazar; and her daughter Claudia Salazar; her mother, Brunilda Zuniga; sisters Iris Ruiz and Celeste Garcia; and her brother Jordan Garcia. Marisol is preceded in death by her little brother Guadalupe Garcia III; her father, Guadalupe Garcia Jr., and her grandmother Maria De Jesus Jimenez-Garcia.

A memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas on August 20th between the hours of 3 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM. Attendance is limited to 10 people at a time, on a rotational basis, and friends and family are invited to attend. For those who will not be able to attend, a Facebook Live Stream will be available on Marisol’s Facebook https://www.facebook.com/marisol.g.salazar. Please be sure to bring your mask and maintain social distance at all times. The Salazar and Garcia families would like to thank everyone for their condolences and continued prayers.
