Elvira Araiza

 Elvira Araiza,64, of Brownsville, TX, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest May 13,2019, at Sunshine Haven Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, TX on July 8, 1954.

She is preceded in death by her mother Concepcion Gutierrez Araiza, her brothers Noe Araiza, Simon Araiza; and her sister Alma Gloria Araiza.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Andres Araiza; and her daughter Alexandra Mendoza; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; Esther Araiza; Mary Munoz; Herminia Hernandez (David Hernandez); Alma Araiza; 2 brothers; Luis Araiza(Ludy Araiza);Gilberto Araiza; and numerous nieces and nephews,  she will be greatly missed.

She was fun, loving, caring, and ready to go anywhere. Especially with all the nieces and nephews, this where she gained the nickname of “Mother Goose.†She loved to travel and play lots of games as entertainment. Always with a quiet look with nothing to say, that was how she gained her second nickname “The Silencerâ€.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15,2019, from 1:00 – 9;00 PM with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.

A Mass is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. 657 Springmart Blvd. 956-350-8485

    Ms. Elvira will always have a special place in my heart. She was so sweet to the staff at the Early Childhood Center and to the students. Much love to the family.
