Marcos Moises “Mark” Salas


Marcos “Mark†Moises Salas, 40, of Brownsville, Texas devoted son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on July 24, 2018 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on July 28, 1977.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Angel, Virginia Olguin Piña, and Delia Moreno Gutierrez; uncle Miguel Piña; aunt Gloria Orozco and grandfather in law David Jacinto. Left to cherish his memory are his parents Oralia and Adan Gutierrez; his son Marcos “Marky†M. Salas Jr.; siblings Patricia (Philip) Valmores, Jose Humberto Salas, Monica (Robert Joseph Truhill) Salas, Dalia (Eloy Saldivar) Gutierrez, and Adan Sergio Gutierrez Jr.; nieces and nephews Madison, Charlotte, Tyler Philip Valmores, Dante Salas, and Daisy Isabella Saldivar. Marcos Moises Salas loved life but before he loved himself he loved his only son Marky. Mark loved his nieces and nephews as his own too. It was very rare to see Mark alone or unhappy. He was always surrounded by friends joking, laughing, drinking and playing good music. Mark was always the first to lend a helping hand and always took good care of his parents. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 1 to 9 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral mass will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be Marcos M. Salas Jr., Jose Humberto Salas, Adan Sergio Gutierrez Jr., Eloy Saldivar, Juan Antonio Rodriguez Jr., Herman Reyes, Jorge Cruz, Vicente Garcia, and Javier Perez.

    One of my oldest friends, OPI original, and fellow Infantry Soldier. I will never forget those days when we used to just hang out at the projects Linda Vista, we were a small group but very united. Marcos you will be missed, it is not a good bye, but a see you later brother. Rest in peace VETERAN!!!!
