Juana “Juanita†Garcia, 89, of Los Fresnos, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on June 26, 2018 in Brownsville, TX.
Juanita was born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico on July 3, 1928. She attended school and lived most of her adult life in Los Fresnos, TX. She was a hardworking, savvy business woman who owned various restaurants and segundas over the years. She loved dancing, gambling, visiting her friends at La Pulga, and relaxing with an occasional Jack and Coke. But by far family was the most important thing to Juanita. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents Rosendo & Severita Leal, and her brother Jesus Manuel Leal. Juanita is survived by her children Oscar Garcia (Terry), Leticia Perez (Abel), and Eloy Gomez (Juanita). Brothers & sisters Margarita L. Perez (Santiago), Rosendo “Roy†Leal (Yolanda), Maria Luisa “Mellie†Puente (Joe- deceased). Grandchildren Erica Wilson (Chris), Amanda Carlson (David), Wesley Delgado, Michael A. Garcia, Ruben Gomez, and Monica Gomez, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that she adored.
Public Viewing and Visitation is Friday, June 29, 2018 from 2 to 9 p.m. with the Rosary commencing at 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home of Brownsville, TX oversee all arrangements. 657 Springmart Blvd. (956) 350-8485.
